In releasing her endorsement, Assemblywoman Autumn Burke released the following statement:

“I am happy to endorse Steven Bradford for Senate. He has a long history of serving Los Angeles communities from his time on the Gardena City Council to serving in the Assembly. He has worked diligently to improve environmental impacts on low income communities with groundbreaking legislation like AB-217, the Equitable Access to Solar Enegry Act. I look forward to working with Steven to improve the quality of life of the residents of the 62nd Assembly District and the 35th Senate District. As representatives in overlapping districts, I am confident that together we can pursue an agenda that will enhance opportunities and build better futures for our communities.”

After learning of the endorsement, former State Assemblyman Steven Bradford released the following statement:

“I am deeply honored to have received the endorsement of Assemblywoman Burke. She has been a passionate advocate for the people of Los Angeles and has fought for equal rights for women, good paying jobs for our working families, and educational and vocational opportunities for our children. I look forward to working with her in Sacramento to continue to create policies that advance the interests of Angelinos and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed by cutting student loan debt, increasing college attendance rates, and creating career technical schools.”

Today’s endorsement joins several community leaders, labor organizations, elected officials, and local groups, including Mayor Eric Garcetti, Congresswoman Janice Hahn, the California Labor Federation, and the California Professional Firefighters.
