Professional Engineers in California Government (PECG) Endorse Steven Bradford for State Senate

Gardena, CA— Following endorsements from the ILWU District Council, the United Farm Workers, and the California State University Employees Union, today, the Professional Engineers in California Government (PECG) endorsed Steven Bradford in the race for State Senate District 35.

In a letter to the campaign announcing the endorsement, President of the PECG Mark Sheahan stated:

“The Professional Engineers in California Government (PECG) represents 13,000 state-employed engineers and related professionals responsible for designing and inspecting California’s highways and bridges, ensuring that schools and hospitals are safe during earthquakes and protecting our air, water and beaches, and we are proud to endorse your campaign for Senate District 35. Given your stated commitment to public servants, we know that you will continue to serve our state and your constituents after your election.”

Upon hearing news of the endorsement, former State Assemblyman Steven Bradford released the following statement:

“I am proud to have received an endorsement from the Professional Engineers in California Government, a group that exemplifies the importance of investing in our education system and our infrastructure. I plan on increasing funding for our infrastructure networks, so that we can fulfill our most basic promise of good roads and safe buildings for all of our students. I am looking forward to working with the PECG in the State Senate to create policies that get more kids into STEM classes, create new apprenticeship programs and career technical schools, and provide a pathway to college without crippling debt for students.”

Today’s endorsement joins several community leaders, labor organizations, elected officials, and local groups including Mayor Eric Garcetti, Congresswoman Janice Hahn, the California Labor Federation, and the California Professional Firefighters.
